Once when I was in a taxi, a reckless driver had dangerously swerved into our lane, endangering our lives and causing the taxi driver to slam on the breaks.
I half expected him to wind down his window and flip the guy or storm out with a baseball bat and smash the reckless driver’s car’s windscreen to smitherines, because I probably would have, the flipping I mean.

But he did none of that.

Instead, he took a deep, and I mean deep, breath, stared intently at his dashboard for a few seconds and continued like nothing had happened. I looked over his shoulder to see if he was actually looking at something or just trying to find his zen, and then I saw it.

A crucifix.

We all need to draw strength from somewhere.
Even for the day to day things.
